60s GOLD NIGHT -- CHIP HAWKES AND NEW AMEN CORNER
Put Chip Hawkes together with New Amen Corner and you've got the Show of Shows!. Get ready for a non-stop night of all those wonderful hits from The Tremeloes and Amen Corner plus a whole lot more treasures from the "Summer Of Love" -- one of the hottest periods in pop music. Chip was the front man and lead singer of The Tremeloes when they had that golden stream of hits in the 60s and early 70s. "Silence Is Golden", "Here Comes My Baby", "Helule Helule", "Even The Bad Times Are Good", "Suddenly You Love Me", "My Little Lady", "Hello World", "(Call Me) Number One", "Me And My Life", "Yellow River" and on and on goes the list! Amen Corner were one of the biggest influences on the 60s pop scene to ever come out of Wales. With their own brand of West Coast (Wales) music -- a mixture of mod, psychedelic power pop, heavy horns, swirling Hammond organ and the distinctive voice of Andy Fairweather-Low -- their power house live show made them one of the most exciting bands around at the time. With million-seller hits like "Bend Me Shape Me", "If Paradise Is Half As Nice", "High In The Sky", "Hello Suzie" and "Gin House", they soon became a household names.
