The 22nd Chiltern Charity Golf Classic takes place on 4th September at Harewood Downs Golf Club, Chalfont St Giles. The event has raised around £100,000 over its 22 years benefiting Charities such as Iain Rennie Hospice, The Pepper Foundation and The Rushymead Hospice. This year’s main beneficiary will be The Hospice of St Francis.

The Chalfont St Giles Country Show has been running for over 100 years. It started out as a flower show and has developed over the years into a large event with several thousand people joining in. The theme is "Paradise". The event has 2 main aims: to give everyone a good day out, and distribute any surplus to local good causes.

After holding two highly successful Mega Music Quizzes at our host venue, the Amersham Polish Club, we have decided to open them up to the public under the umbrella of the Amersham Rock 'n' Roll Club.

So please come along and test your knowledge of nearly six decades of pop music with Napoleon XIV's quiz masters Jim and Adam -- after the questions they set, you will want the men in white coats to take them away ha-haa!!!. They will be ably assisted by Kaiser Bill's Batman Alan -- yes, he was the inspiration behind Whistling Jack Smith's big hit and you'll soon realise why Jack couldn't find any words to go with the tune!!!

There will be a prize for the winning team. We normally look at having teams of four to six people, so make up your own or come along and we will link you up with other friendly faces.

The day will start with a Full ‘English’ breakfast being served between 9:30am & 11:00am.  There will be a Golf clinic between 11:00am & 13:00am.

The match itself will be an 18-hole Stableford Golf Competition for teams of three or four. There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Teams as well as the ‘Tail End Charlies’ team

More challenges and opportunities for all competitors to win prizes, including:

•‘Nearest the Pin’ competition

separate ‘Longest Drive’ competitions for men & women

'spot prizes’ for displays of individual golfing prowess [?]

  and of course, the ‘hole-in-one’ competition!

[NB. A hole-in-one prize is available on each of the Par 3 holes]

There will also be a 9 hole Putting Competition [with a difference!]. A Grand Raffle and ‘Silent’ Auction will be held during the evening. A 4-course Dinner will be served at 7:30pm. followed by a cabaret by Mr. Eugene Matthias (President of the Magic Club of Great Britain) [Eugene will also be performing close up magic during the dinner]. Prize-Giving and Grand Raffle will follow the Cabaret.

The MEND scheme gets kids on the go, using fun hands-on activities and games to encourage them to eat well and exercise regularly. The MEND Programme requires at least one parent or adult carer to attend each session with their child, as the Programme aims to improve the entire family's eating and exercise habits, thereby promoting sustained improvements in overall health, fitness and wellbeing.
