CHURCHES TOGETHER

CHURCHES TOGETHER in Amersham on the Hill means eight local churches (groups of people and not buildings) who have joined together in unity to proclaim the Gospel of the Living Lord Jesus in terms of loving, caring service and faithful witness to all people in the locality.

What does it do?

It seeks to serve the community in many ways; be it locally helping at The Sycamore Club with older people, or working at Workaid to recondition tools for the Third World, or having a service at The Croft for the people there.  Great fun is had sharing in the work of Amersham Churches Holiday Club for children each summer.  Or with a wider focus working for Christian Aid and Fair Trade for the world community.

CHURCHES ON THE HILL AMERSHAM - COTHA

We are three churches in Covenant,   Amersham Free Church, Sycamore Corner; St. John’s Methodist Church, Woodside Road; and St. Michael and all Angels, Sycamore Road.   Recognising our shared faith, we resolved, in our Covenant declaration more than ten years ago, to support each other in deepening and renewing our faith for the enrichment of the life of the Church and the individual.   Where possible, activities are shared and ordained ministers of the participating churches are recognised as true ministers of the Word and Sacraments.

FURTHER DETAILS : Can be obtained from the clergy:  Revd. Andrew Busby at the Amersham Free Church  (01494 725339);  Revd. David Jebb at St. John’s, (01494 433504);  Revd. Diana Glover at St. Michael’s (01494 726680).
