HP7 0HX or when the museum reopens in the spring, from the museum shop. A key aim of the Society is to be actively involved in the conservation of a living town, not just preservation of the past. We study all planning applications for the old town opposing plans where necessary to maintain the character of the town, and encourage sympathetic conversion of old buildings and high standards of design in new developments. The Society is involved in environmental issues of public concern and welcomes the views of its members. We have published leaflets to help visitors to enjoy the historic town. Amersham Society members enjoy monthly lectures and discussions. |
